This policy explains what Gallery collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Gallery (“we”) operates the Gallery; Social Arts Club iPhone application. This policy applies to that app and to this website.
Account information. When you create an account we store your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email address that service passes to us. We do not receive your password.
Profile information. Anything you choose to add to your profile: a photo, a short biography, a city, a website link, and the media and regions you say you are interested in. Artists may additionally add a biography, statement, exhibition history, press, education and representation. Profile information is visible to other people using the app.
Content you create. Artworks and images you upload, exhibitions (“Rooms”) you build and publish, and messages and inquiries you send to other people.
Activity. What you save, what you collect, who you follow, and how you move through the app. We use this to order the Discover feed and to build the taste profile shown on your account.
Device information. If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can send them. We also record app version and basic device type when diagnosing problems.
Your Saved items and your Collection are private. They are enforced as private on our servers, not merely hidden in the app: another account cannot reach them through the app or through our API.
Collector demographics shown to artists are aggregated, and only include people who have opted in. An artist cannot see which individual collected their work beyond what you choose to reveal by messaging them.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
We use a small number of providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions only:
If you are in the UK or the EU you have rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR, including access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Contact us to exercise them, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your personal information. Some records are kept where we are required to, or where they are needed to keep the platform safe — for example a record that a report was made.
Gallery is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Our providers may process data outside the country you live in. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, including standard contractual clauses.
If we change this policy we will update the date below, and tell you in the app where the change is significant.
